About The Position

As our Field Service Intern, you will be a vital part of our client's service organization and will have the opportunity to be mentored and guided by the on-site Field Services Representative (FSR). This role will have direct interaction with customers, as well as the support and network operations teams. This position will assist the FSR on a part-time basis with off-campus property management, students, and residents at Ithaca College. You will assist with maintenance and operational support for data, network core, and distribution equipment. We highly encourage acquiring certifications, and supplemental training material can be provided. We are One Team and challenge everyone in our organization to be a problem solver. Requirements

• Basic understanding of networking and multiple operating systems
• Enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college/university
• Ability to operate under minimal supervision
• Ability to work logically and methodically to resolve service issues under direction from NOC
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Business professional manner and presentation in a variety of scenarios

Nice To Haves

• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Currently studying for an IT degree
• Experience with IT Certifications such as Net+

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to customers
• Work with FSR to address end-user and network escalations
• Perform weekly network testing
• Perform monthly maintenance of network equipment
• Work with FSR to coordinate client activities (e.g., move-in)
• Monitor, investigate, and retire equipment alarms
• Generate reports as required
• Other documentation and administrative duties as requested
