About The Position

The HVACR Field Service Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of field technicians to deliver high-quality service, improve operational efficiency, and support business growth. This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a focus on continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, foodservice equipment, proven leadership skills, and a passion for developing technicians and improving operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of field service experience in the HVACR industry preferably in the commercial environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in a service environment
  • Proven ability to develop and lead teams
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-volume or multi-location service environment
  • Familiarity with dispatch systems and service management tools

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service across all customer interactions
  • Reduce callback rates and repeat service visits
  • Address and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting complex HVACR and refrigeration issues
  • Drive timely completion of service calls with a target of improving toward a 2–4 day average
  • Improve first-time fix rates and reduce multi-trip service calls
  • Partner with dispatch to optimize scheduling and workflow efficiency
  • Monitor technician utilization and overall team performance toward a goal of 80
  • Instill the importance of safety in the workplace with a goal of zero at fault accidents
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of field technicians
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs to assess performance and provide feedback
  • Evaluate technician skill levels and implement development plans
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new technicians
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Assess and maintain truck stock and equipment readiness
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
  • Develop a strong understanding of branch operations and business goals
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, talent acquisition, and leadership teams
