About The Position

As a Field Service Manager, you will combine operational support, customer engagement, delivery, and safety leadership to ensure high‑quality service to our customers across local routes and plant operations. This role is physically active and customer-facing, with key responsibilities in field supervisory support supervising 2 or more employees at the locations, operational coordination, ensuring compliance and product delivery across all service activities. You will help contribute to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment—both on the road and within the plant.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial, plant, or operations environment, and prefer demonstrated responsibility for coordinating work activities, supporting or leading teams, and maintaining operational standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to provide direction, set priorities, and communicate expectations clearly to team members.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to safety, including the ability to lead by example and reinforce safe work practices among others.
  • Positive, results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and operational efficiency.
  • Working knowledge of Linde’s business operations and commitment to supporting its mission, values, and customer service goals.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with a minimum of 2 years of consecutive driving experience, or completion of a recent accredited truck driving school certification.
  • Current Hazmat Endorsement, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements, including a valid medical certificate.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift at least 75 pounds.
  • No preventable accidents or serious moving violations within the last 2 years.
  • No alcohol‑related convictions in the last 10 years.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily plant operations, including planning, assigning, and prioritizing daily work activities and ensuring tasks are effectively communicated and executed by employees across the location.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production and distribution teams, proactively addressing operational challenges and ensuring customer and internal service requirements are met.
  • Oversee inventory levels of production supplies, ensuring accuracy, availability, and compliance, and review and approve DOT shipping documentation for correctness and regulatory adherence.
  • Monitor employee performance and operational processes, identifying issues related to staffing, logistics, delivery schedules, efficiency, safety, and quality, and lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination and escalation, building strong working relationships with plant personnel, drivers, customer service teams, and external customers to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of issues.
  • Model and promote safe work practices, reinforcing company policies, training expectations, and accountability standards throughout the operation.
  • Lead and conduct onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members, ensuring consistent understanding and adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and operational standards.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and technical support to employees in the field and within the plant, serving as a primary resource for troubleshooting, customer education, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Reinforce performance expectations and best practices, addressing training gaps and recommending corrective actions as needed to support employee development and operational effectiveness.
  • Foster a positive and engaged work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect while modeling professional conduct and company values.
  • Partner with leadership and HR to support workforce development initiatives, skills progression, and succession planning efforts.
  • Conduct and document pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, reporting maintenance or repair needs.
  • Uphold the highest standards of personal safety and contribute positively to the site’s safety culture.
  • Ensure activities comply with Linde Safety and Quality Systems, coordinating with compliance teams when necessary.
  • Support environmental, safety, and quality objectives for field and plant operations.
  • Safely and efficiently deliver compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and related products across a computer‑generated local route.
  • Load and unload cylinders and materials at customer sites.
  • Accurately record delivered and picked‑up products, ensuring documentation and cylinder tracking are complete and correct.
  • Respond to customer needs while representing Linde with professionalism and service excellence.
