As a Field Service Engineer at Agilent, you will support customers by installing, maintaining, and repairing Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems. Your role will involve troubleshooting, optimizing hardware and software configurations, and ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering integrated solutions. This position requires organization and time management, adaptability, strong problem-solving, and a passion for continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role as a Field Service or Instrumentation Technician or as an end user of instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography or Mass Spectroscopy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 35-40% of the time throughout the territory, which could include overnight stays.
  • Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to, post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer-requested screening is required for this position.
  • The ideal candidate will reside in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN geographic area
  • The position requires an active driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in instrumentation such as Atomic Absorption (AA), ICP-MS, and ICP-OES is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Install and optimize hardware, software, and network products at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide guidance on preventive maintenance to minimize disruptions.
  • Proactively address potential equipment issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Complete administrative activities accurately and in a timely manner
  • Identify lead-generating opportunities

  • In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.
  • The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $34.00 - $53.13/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
