About The Position

Step into a high impact role with RTX, where your technical expertise directly supports systems that keep aerospace and defense operations running at peak performance. As a Field Service Engineer within Collins Aerospace, you will serve as the on site face of the organization with customers, taking ownership of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex electro mechanical equipment. This is more than a service role. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring equipment reliability, diagnosing issues, and delivering solutions that align with customer needs and contractual requirements. In this position, you will combine strong technical ability with leadership and customer engagement, helping guide less experienced technicians while managing service execution in real world environments. With up to 50 percent travel across customer locations, you will gain exposure to a wide range of systems and challenges, including control systems and PLC diagnostics. This is a Remote role with a preferred location in Oregon or Arizona to support travel needs.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and servicing electro mechanical equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform on site field service including installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and removal of complex electro mechanical equipment to meet customer and company requirements
  • Install, test, service, and calibrate equipment to ensure performance aligns with operating specifications and customer expectations
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, providing clear recommendations and solutions to both internal teams and customers
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine service activities to ensure equipment reliability and long term performance
  • Analyze product performance and support modifications, upgrades, and enhancements based on customer specifications and operational needs
  • Serve as the primary on site representative, building strong relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Manage assigned scope of work to ensure services are delivered in alignment with contract requirements, timelines, and expectations
  • Coordinate technical services, logistics, provisioning, and system configurations to support customer operations
  • Assess customer equipment needs and provide guidance on service solutions, upgrades, and optimization opportunities
  • Provide training and instruction to customers and internal teams on equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices
  • Lead and support junior technicians by assigning work, providing guidance, and ensuring quality and consistency in service delivery
  • Maintain and review equipment logs to identify trends, determine repair needs, and recommend effective solutions
  • Travel up to 50% to support customer sites and business needs
