The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering high ‑ quality technical service and support for Epredia Digital Pathology Solutions and Core Histology Instrumentation. This includes installation, maintenance, repair, validation, and service contract fulfillment for a range of systems such as slide imaging scanners, tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, slide stainers, and slide/cassette labeling instruments. Location: This is a field position with the ideal candidate located in or near the Atlanta, GA area.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of field service experience supporting electronic, mechanical, medical device, diagnostic, imaging, or laboratory instrumentation preferred
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic and mechanical instrumentation in laboratory, medical device, diagnostic, imaging, or related technical environments
  • Experience performing installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on medical devices, laboratory instrumentation, or digital imaging systems
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel, to customer sites based on business and customer needs
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • CFT certification or active CREA registration preferred
  • Experience supporting Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), network-connected instrumentation, or integrated laboratory systems preferred
  • Experience supporting laboratory workflow components, including scanners, servers, image management platforms, or related systems, preferred
  • Experience working in Windows, Windows Server, Linux, or similar operating system environments preferred
  • Experience using standard computer systems and software applications for documentation, reporting, and service activities

Responsibilities

  • Provide on ‑ site technical service, troubleshooting, and repair for digital pathology and histology equipment.
  • Perform system installations, preventive maintenance, validations, and service contract obligations.
  • Respond rapidly to customer needs, including traveling to customer sites on short notice and remaining on ‑ site as required to complete service tasks.
  • Support mission ‑ critical issues by participating in an after ‑ hours and rotating on ‑ call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain continuous availability via company ‑ issued mobile phone and be prepared for emergency service needs 24/7 .
