The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Videojet industrial coding and marking equipment at customer sites while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting business growth. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer productivity, equipment reliability, and long-term customer satisfaction. This position is home-based and supports customers across Northern California/Northern Nevada territory. This role requires daily travel within the assigned territory, with most evenings spent at home and occasional overnight travel depending on customer needs. The technician operates independently while managing their schedule and service priorities to ensure effective customer coverage.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or equivalent technical training (mechanical, electrical, electronics, or related field) or relevant military/technical experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities, including standing, bending, and lifting, throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial printing and coding equipment at customer manufacturing sites.
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Providing technical support and training to customers to optimize equipment performance.
  • Managing assigned customer accounts and identifying opportunities to increase value through service agreements or additional solutions.
  • Tracking and escalating technical issues according to established procedures to ensure timely resolution.
  • Delivering a high level of customer satisfaction while supporting regional and company performance goals.
