About The Position

Equipment Management Service and Repair (EMSAR) is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to provide hands-on technical support for critical healthcare equipment. This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various specialized equipment, including laboratory instruments, medical diagnostic equipment, and kiosk systems. The position is full-time and requires travel up to 25%, including regional day trips and occasional overnight stays, with all travel expenses covered. Technicians receive paid training, professional development, and company-provided tools. The role is crucial in ensuring reliable, properly functioning equipment for hospitals and healthcare providers, supporting patient care.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organization and time-management abilities
  • The ability to work independently while following established procedures
  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2–4 years of technical or field service experience OR Associate degree or trade/technical school certification AND 1+ year of technical experience (including internship or apprenticeship)
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance
  • Ability to operate personal, fleet, or rental vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, calibration, and repair on laboratory instruments, medical diagnostic equipment, and kiosk systems
  • Conducting performance verification and equipment testing to ensure compliance and reliability
  • Documenting service activities and managing work orders using EMSAR’s ServiceMax system
  • Communicating with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate service calls
  • Representing EMSAR professionally while working at customer facilities
