About the Field Technical Engineer I Role: McCrometer is seeking a full time Field Service Engineer I to support customers across the Eastern United States, between Pennsylvania and North Carolina area. This role blends hands-on field service with remote technical support, offering variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work directly with critical flow measurement technologies. Requirements

  • Strong background in mechanical and electronics systems
  • Experience using hand tools and electronic testing equipment
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory
  • You have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

  • You have previous Field Service experience.
  • Your background includes working with irrigation pipelines or pump controls.
  • Proven ability to self-manage and take initiative; you are resilient, resourceful, and an expert at managing a busy workload with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of McCrometer flow measurement equipment
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers. When working from your home you’ll spend your days on the phone with customers to support and troubleshoot the design, construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of our instrumentation. The rest of your time, you’ll travel to the customer’s location (either by car or by plane) to provide hands-on support for installation or diagnostic/repair work.
  • Work safely in industrial environments, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, and varying temperatures
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and technical professionalism
  • Collaborate closely with internal technical and service teams
  • Travel around the 40% of the time to customer sites across the Eastern US as needed. Due to our comprehensive training and team-oriented work environment, travel out-of-state and out-of-country may be required occasionally throughout the year. When traveling for work, you can anticipate occasional overnight stays at company-approved hotels (employee safety is one of our topmost priorities!). Sometimes you will see an overnight here-and-there, other work assignments may require overnight stays around one week.
