About The Position

Engineer II is a mid-level field service role responsible for independently installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC machinery and automation systems. This position provides technical expertise, supports customers in maximizing uptime, and ensures all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in field service, CNC machinery, or industrial automation.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial network systems (EtherCAT, Ethernet).
  • Familiarity with servo motors, I/O modules, PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), and control logic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and precision technical diagrams.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; comfortable in independent, customer-facing roles.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%+ nationwide, Monday–Friday).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and accountability in all interactions.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work safely in industrial environments.
  • Comfortable working remotely (home office) while maintaining communication with internal teams.
  • Flexibility to attend trade shows, customer events, dealer trainings, and work across time zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CRM or pipeline tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent OpEx and manufacturer partners with professionalism and integrity.
  • Install, commission, test, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machine tools and automation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
  • Interpret and apply technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Provide customer training and operational guidance on CNC machinery.
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and documentation.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and supervisors.
  • Recommend system improvements based on technical evaluations.
  • Travel frequently to customer sites (air and ground transportation).
