About The Position

Trimble is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Geospatial Field Sales Representative to become part of our energetic sales team. The role involves selling geospatial solutions to Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, with a focus on maintaining current customer relationships and fostering new business opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for creating and executing sales strategies to meet both immediate and long-term business goals within the specified market. The candidate will be tasked with nurturing and expanding relationships with key military branches and agencies within the Department of Defense (DoD), ensuring our geospatial hardware and software solutions—including total stations, GPS/GNSS, terrestrial and mobile LIDAR scanners, and related software—align with their requirements. A central aspect of the role involves showcasing and selling these solutions, with a particular focus on Trimble’s innovative reality capture technologies. Furthermore, the candidate will seek out and capitalize on new business development opportunities within the DoD sector, utilizing their proficiency in government sales, geospatial hardware, and comprehensive software. The candidate may also sell Trimble Connect and other geospatial cloud solutions once they achieve FedRAMP accreditation. Collaboration is crucial, and the candidate will engage remotely with cross-functional teams to guarantee customer satisfaction. Success in this direct contributor role hinges on meeting and surpassing established sales targets, with the candidate's efforts being integral to the sales team's overall success. Delivering outstanding customer service is of utmost importance, along with crafting and presenting persuasive sales presentations and demonstrations. To aid the candidate's initiatives, they will consistently update CRM systems with customer details, sales activities, and opportunities, ensuring all data remains current and actionable. The role also includes traveling to meet customers and participate in industry events, reinforcing Trimble's presence and reputation in the geospatial sector.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in government sales and/or selling geospatial hardware solutions.
  • Understanding of the government acquisition lifecycle and potential/preferred contract vehicles.
  • Knowledge of geospatial hardware, including optical total stations, GPS/GNSS, and terrestrial and mobile LIDAR scanners.
  • Ability to build personal relationships with prospects and clients.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across an organizational structure, including finance, legal, marketing, and product teams, to deliver targeted results.
  • High-energy, self-driven, and results-oriented mindset.

  • University degree in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Participate in industry trade shows and other organization events and meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Bonus for candidates who also have experience selling complimentary cloud, SaaS, or software solutions to the DoD.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based software, and an understanding of DoD requirements for secure software deployment (e.g., FedRAMP/IL4 concepts).

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and monthly pipeline reviews to ensure progress in achieving goals and to communicate status and/or issues.
  • Travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
