About The Position

At Cisco, you will join a collaborative environment designed to help you grow and begin building your career. As a Sales Intern, you will be part of a nationwide cohort participating in a shared learning and professional development experience. Through cohort sessions, team projects, networking opportunities, and volunteer activities, you will build relationships with fellow interns while gaining exposure to teams across Cisco. Throughout the program, you will also learn from experienced sales professionals, leaders, and executives through training, mentorship, and team collaboration. As a Sales Intern, you will gain insight into how Cisco sales teams help customers solve business challenges with technology. Cisco sellers build trusted relationships with customers and partners, positioning solutions that drive business outcomes across areas such as AI, security, networking, collaboration, and cloud. During the internship, you will gain exposure to how sales teams research accounts, develop strategies, and use data and AI-enabled tools to identify opportunities and support customer success. Upon completion of the program, interns may be invited to interview for full-time opportunities within the Cisco Sales Associates Program, which provides a structured pathway into roles such as Account Executive and other sales positions. This internship is a 10-week structured program beginning June 8th. Due to the cohort-based nature of the program, including training sessions, collaborative projects, and presentations, interns are expected to commit to the full duration of the program. Candidates should plan to be fully available during the internship period and avoid scheduling personal travel or extended time away.

Requirements

  • Are a rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or currently participating in a relevant certification program, community college program, workforce development program, or other career-focused training path
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly express ideas and insights
  • Have strong working knowledge of AI tools, AI-assisted workflows, or emerging AI technologies
  • Thrive in collaborative team environments and work effectively with others
  • Are organized and able to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Show initiative, curiosity, and self-motivation when approaching new challenges
  • Are adaptable and flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate how AI-enabled tools can help sellers research accounts, plan customer engagement strategies, identify new opportunities, and improve overall seller productivity
  • Research industries, companies, and accounts using AI to help identify new business opportunities
  • Support prospecting and demand generation efforts
  • Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, and internal sales meetings
  • Learn how Cisco sellers position solutions in areas such as AI, collaboration, security, networking, and cloud
  • Deliver presentations to account teams and sales leaders, sharing strategic insights and recommendations based on your research and project work

  • U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco’s policies: 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations) 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
  • For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
  • Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan.
  • For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
  • For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target.
  • Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
