About The Position

We’re currently looking for a Field Safety Manager to join our team and play a critical part in our daily operations. This dynamic role is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing teammate safety practices throughout Pomp’s Tire Service. This role ensures that Pomp’s Tire Service adheres to federal, state, and local laws, including (but not limited to) applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain driving record to Pomp’s standards
  • Prior experience as a safety manager or similar relevant role required
  • TIA Level 400 Certification required (or ability to obtain)
  • OSHA 30 Certification required (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis between both internal and external worksites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships throughout the assigned Pomp’s region
  • Prior experience with MSHA, OSHA, TIA, DOT, EPA or other regulatory agencies is preferred
  • Prior experience producing reports and developing relevant policies and procedures for health, safety, or other relevant corporate initiatives
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, occupational safety, or environmental compliance
  • Comfort with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics outward
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA in safety management, human resources, or another relevant field is preferred
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety is preferred
  • Prior experience with MSHA, OSHA, TIA, DOT, EPA or other regulatory agencies is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with corporate safety standards and government regulations
  • Frequent travel to complete regular risk assessments of corporate locations in an assigned geographic region
  • Prepare and enforce policies and procedures to establish a positive culture of health and safety
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Conduct post-accident investigations and prepare reports to relevant personnel and senior management, identifying possible accident causes and hazards, including suggestions for corrective actions
  • Assist in disciplinary action requests, supplemental and additional training requests, and remedial training
  • Coordinate response to any inquiries from MSHA, OSHA, or other local, state, and federal regulators
  • Plan and implement OHS policies and programs, including drafting and proposing new safety content
  • Conduct ride-along evaluations of drivers and tire-technicians
  • Support safety, fleet, and various corporate teams in improvement of corporate information systems
  • Define and demonstrate team member responsibilities and setting team goals
  • Additional tasks as assigned
