About The Position

SRM Concrete is seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Safety Director to lead our team of regional Safety Managers. Reporting directly to the Chief Safety Officer (CSO), this senior leadership role is a crucial partner in developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the company-wide safety strategy. The Field Safety Director will work closely with the CSO to ensure a best-in-class safety culture across our 23-state footprint, serving as the top-level expert on safety compliance and risk mitigation. This role provides guidance and mentorship to our safety team and partners with operational leadership to ensure the well-being of every team member. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep regulatory knowledge and a proven track record of managing safety programs on large-scale commercial projects.

Requirements

  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
  • Expert-level knowledge of and experience with FMCSA and OSHA regulations.
  • Extensive, verifiable experience managing safety on large commercial construction projects.
  • Proven track record of conducting and leading high-level safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, managing a team of safety professionals.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel frequently to project sites and regional offices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Previous safety experience in the ready-mix concrete or construction materials industry.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other advanced safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Chief Safety Officer on strategic planning, policy development, and high-level incident command.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of regional Safety Managers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring consistency in safety program execution.
  • Develop, implement, and refine corporate safety policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with all applicable FMCSA, OSHA, and MSHA regulations.
  • Provide senior oversight for all safety audits and lead investigations into significant incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety metrics and incident data to identify trends, measure performance, and develop proactive risk-reduction strategies.
  • Act as the primary safety consultant for large commercial projects, collaborating with operations to manage complex safety challenges.
  • Partner with executive leadership to champion a culture where safety is a core value and integral to all operations.
  • Travel frequently to various regions and job sites to provide leadership, support, and hands-on guidance.
