About The Position

Potelco, Inc. is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator to join our Safety team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our field crews across medium- and high-voltage transmission, distribution, underground, and substation projects. You’ll play a key part in promoting a strong safety culture by conducting field observations, providing training, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role requires extensive local travel (approximately 80%) to job sites across the Washington Pacific Northwest region, with about 20% of the time spent in Oregon, North Idaho, and Montana.

Requirements

3+ years as a Journeyman Lineman
Familiarity with medium- and high-voltage electrical work preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time across the Pacific Northwest.
Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Conduct job site safety observations and audits.
Provide guidance and education on safe work procedures, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
Support crews with hazard identification and mitigation.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the corporate safety program.
Facilitate new hire orientations and ongoing safety training.
Deliver toolbox talks and job hazard analysis (JHA) reviews.
Promote a total safety culture through coaching and mentoring in the field.
Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
Complete reports for site observations, investigations, and regulatory compliance.
Support emergency response and storm duty as needed.
Partner with field staff, project managers, and leadership to support safety initiatives.
Represent Potelco during on-site regulatory inspections.
Escort visitors and ensure adherence to site safety policies.
