Field Repair Technician - Austin, TX
About The Position
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing preventative maintenance and repair on Arjo medical equipment. This role requires an understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and experience with the tools and processes required to complete the work. You will spend most of your time working on Arjo medical equipment in our Austin service center….with some of your time traveling to other Arjo services centers in Texas. An Arjo vehicle will be provided and all travel paid by the company. Expected overnight travel is approximately 20-30%.
Requirements
- Associates degree in an electrical or mechanical discipline (or) suitable repair and maintenance experience with electrical equipment and/or a minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in a technical, repair or maintenance related field
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed on short notice. Approximately 20-30% overnight travel.
- Ability to move medical equipment, including ability to lift to 30 pounds and push/pull heavy objects using up to 70 pounds of force
Nice To Haves
- Electrical and mechanical assembly, repair or maintenance training and/or certifications preferred
- Experience in selling or sales techniques (i.e. selling contracts or services) preferred
Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance, repair services, installations, upgrades at an Arjo Service Center or onsite at a customer location (hospital)
- Assess, provide cost estimates, and complete repairs for customer-owned medical equipment.
- Assist the sales team in marketing company equipment (joint calls, in-services, sales leads, demo and trade show set-up, etc.)
- Comply with all health and safety codes and procedures as mandated by company policy, customer requirements, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure reports are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines
- Manage local and van spare parts inventory
