About The Position

The Field Recruiter is responsible for high-impact, field-based recruiting to support operational staffing needs across the organization. This role serves as CareFlite's front-line recruitment ambassador, spending approximately 80–90% of time in the field building relationships, sourcing candidates, and representing the organization at schools, job fairs, community events, and workforce partner sites. The remaining 10–20% of the role is administrative and strategic, focused on applicant tracking system (ATS) management, coordination with HR and hiring leaders, and workforce planning support. This position is critical to maintaining a strong, sustainable talent pipeline in a competitive healthcare and EMS labor market.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of recruiting or talent outreach experience, preferably in healthcare, EMS, aviation, or field-based environments
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites and events

Nice To Haves

  • Experience sourcing or recruiting for EMS, healthcare, public safety, or frontline roles
  • Familiarity with EMT, Paramedic, Nursing, Aviation, or allied health workforce pipelines
  • Experience recruiting in rural or hard-to-staff markets
  • Experience working within an ATS and tracking recruiting activity

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary in-person recruiting presence
  • Source candidates through direct, face-to-face outreach at: EMT, Paramedic, Nursing, Aviation, and Allied Health programs
  • Trade schools, colleges, universities, and workforce training programs
  • Job fairs, career days, open houses, community events, and industry conferences
  • Conduct on-the-spot prescreens and initial candidate conversations
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with instructors, program directors, career advisors, workforce agencies and community partners
  • Coordinate and support local hiring events, information sessions, and site visits
  • Travel regularly to multiple locations to support urgent, high-volume, or hard-to-fill roles
  • Represent the organization as an employer of choice and trusted workforce partner
  • Screen candidates for minimum qualifications and role alignment
  • Manage candidate activity, notes, and sourcing efforts within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Partner closely with HR, hiring managers, and operations leaders to understand: Current staffing needs Anticipated hiring demand Market challenges and candidate availability
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Coordinator for pre-boarding and onboarding activities
  • Track and report recruiting metrics such as pipeline volume, conversion rates, and event outcomes
  • Provide feedback to HR and leadership on market trends, competitor activity, and workforce insights
  • Build proactive candidate pipelines for frontline, high-volume, and hard-to-staff roles
  • Support employer branding efforts in collaboration with HR and Marketing
  • Participate in ride-alongs, base visits, and site tours to better communicate the employee experience
  • Act as a liaison between candidates, schools, community partners, and internal teams
