About The Position

Position Summary: The field project manager is responsible for assisting the PM's in planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. The field project manager will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep upper-management informed the entire way. This will all be done within the confines of Kort’s Construction Services’ goals and vision.

Requirements

  • Requires the mobility to perform vehicle operating duties.
  • The Field Project Manager at times will have a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects.
  • The Field Project Manager at times will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.
  • Effective communication with crew members, Foreman, management team and office staff
  • Excellent problem solving ability

  • Ensuring crew compliance with project policies, procedures and company policies
  • Assist with training upcoming laborers, pipe layers and operators

  • Safety Vest - A safety vest is mandatory when performing work in traffic/pedestrian areas.
  • Hardhats - Hardhat use is mandatory on ALL job sites.
  • Hand Protection – Gloves are required to assure hand protection.
  • Foot Protection - Safety shoes are mandatory on all job sites (steel-toe)
  • Eye Protection – Safety glasses are mandatory while working on-site.
  • Always be aware of potential dangers and hazards around you while driving vehicles or operating equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Track project costs in order to meet budget
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to upper management about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
