About The Position

Ready to help us transform healthcare? Bring your true colors to blue. As a Field Outreach Consultant for Medicare Sales, you will serve as the face of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in the community. This role is responsible for driving membership growth by conducting sales seminars and webinars for Medicare-eligible individuals. You will cultivate relationships with community partners, including Councils on Aging, libraries, and local organizations, to expand BCBSMA's community presence. Additionally, you will collaborate with Account Executives and brokers to provide essential Medicare education to our commercial accounts. You will join a highly collaborative team, working together to manage the logistics and scheduling required to deliver hundreds of presentations annually. This position is eligible for the Flex persona. This position requires providing coverage in one of the following Massachusetts counties: Middlesex, Worcester, or the Western MA region. The assigned territory will be determined based on the successful candidate's place of residence to ensure efficient local service.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strong product knowledge of Medicare.
  • A current Massachusetts Health & Life (H&L) Producer's License is required.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, self-starting work ethic with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A high degree of professionalism with proven success in relationship management.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in health insurance, managed care, or an ancillary business setting.
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required for frequent travel.

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert: Deliver compelling and informative presentations to groups of seniors to clarify their Medicare options.
  • Drive Membership Growth: Guide prospective members through the enrollment process for a BCBSMA Medicare plan that meets their needs, both during open enrollment and year-round.
  • Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local senior advocates, insurance brokers, and financial planners to build trust and generate referrals.
  • Territory Management: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed territory goals.
  • Track and Report: Monitor outreach activities and report on key performance indicators and results to measure effectiveness.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with team members to ensure comprehensive event coverage and the effective sharing of resources and materials.
  • Ensure Compliance: Strictly adhere to all state and federal (CMS) regulations governing Medicare sales and marketing activities.
  • Travel: Active travel within the assigned territory is required approximately 50% of the time. During the Annual Enrollment Period (October 1st - December 7th), travel will increase to 90%.
