About The Position

The Field Operations Manager / Superintendent will oversee field operations across multiple commercial roofing projects while supporting crews, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining project performance standards. This role serves as the critical link between field crews, project managers, suppliers, and leadership to ensure teams have the materials, tools, information, and guidance necessary to complete projects safely, efficiently, and within budget. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with extensive experience in commercial flat roofing systems , capable of troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining high-quality installation standards, and supporting crews to deliver excellent results for customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 7–10 years of experience in commercial roofing or related construction field
  • Proven experience supervising field crews and managing project execution
  • Strong background in commercial and industrial flat roofing systems
  • Commercial and industrial roofing projects
  • Project sizes typically ranging from $50K – $1M
  • Work located throughout Detroit and surrounding metropolitan areas

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Troubleshoot complex technical roofing issues and guide crews on effective solutions
  • Coordinate with project managers to monitor job progress, budgets, and scheduling
  • Ensure field staff have the necessary materials, information, and instructions to complete work within scope and budget
  • Maintain appropriate stock inventory levels and coordinate material purchases when needed
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing on materials
  • Assist with new roof take-offs and repair inspections when required
  • Perform inspections and develop scopes of work including required labor and materials
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, including Duro-Last system requirements
  • Address escalated customer concerns and help resolve field issues quickly and professionally
  • Manage equipment and tool availability, ensuring crews have functioning tools and resources
  • Oversee fleet maintenance and ensure vehicles receive proper servicing and care
  • Participate in project meetings and post-job reviews to improve processes and performance
  • Identify and recommend new products, materials, or equipment to improve efficiency and service quality
  • Train and mentor field staff to improve technical performance and productivity
