About The Position

Field Investigator not only acts as the liaison between BKV and law enforcement agencies but is also responsible for conducting on-site investigations related to operational incidents, safety events, property damage, and regulatory matters. Responds promptly to field locations to assess situations, secure relevant information, and document conditions. Collect and preserve evidence, including photographs, measurements, samples, and written statements. Interview employees, contractors, landowners, and third parties to obtain accurate and objective accounts of events. Prepare clear, detailed investigative reports outlining findings, root cause analysis, and recommended corrective actions. Collaborates with Operations, Legal, Land, and HR to support resolution and risk mitigation efforts. Maintain organized and accurate case files in accordance with company policies and recordkeeping standards. Identify trends or recurring issues and recommend preventative measures to reduce operational risk. Travel regularly to well sites, production facilities, and other field locations as required. Works under moderate supervision. Communicates information that typically requires explanation or interpretation. Problems faced are generally routine and may sometimes require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.

Requirements

  • Proven track in planning and leading projects to support all types of investigations.
  • Extensive knowledge and previous work utilizing electronic surveillance devices.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and job-related applications including PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Genetec.
  • Understands how to use digital tools to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.

  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ law enforcement experience required.

  • Certificate or associate degree in relevant field such as law enforcement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct operations of all BKV field and workplace investigations
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a standardized reporting system for all investigations
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files in accordance with company policies and recordkeeping standards.
  • Identify trends or recurring issues and recommend preventative measures to reduce operational risk.
  • Travel regularly to well sites, production facilities, and other field locations as required.
  • Collaborate with Electronic Security to trouble shoot any access control issues.
  • Mitigate all security threat vulnerabilities.
  • Perform other duties as required, including support for Executive Protection.
