Requirements

  • Three to five years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, equivalent degree, or equivalent related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law practices (e.g., EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, OSHA, etc.).
  • Capable of forming relationships with diverse groups of people at various levels within an organization.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including, but not limited to employee relations, performance management, recruitment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft suite and HRIS software (experience with UKG a plus).
  • Demonstrated strength with written and verbal communication.

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information and provide necessary follow-through.
  • Previous retail or multi-site human resources experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an employee advocate and resolve employee conflicts, issues, and concerns, as necessary.
  • Conduct field operations investigations and engage in crisis management.
  • Objectively advise retail leadership on ways to handle issues.
  • Facilitate communication throughout the Region to ensure programs, processes, and goals are communicated effectively and appropriately.
  • Implement and communicate all HR policies, procedures, and practices. ensure that they are consistent with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain strategic partnership with the District Managers and Regional Manager to ensure Operations and HR initiatives are aligned with the Company’s overall goals.
  • Partner with Operations to understand the Region’s entire talent landscape and proactively identify leadership and/or talent gaps, development opportunities, and internal mobility options.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of recruitment best practices to build talent and bench strength through external and internal recruiting.
  • Conduct succession planning and spearhead career-path activities for high potential employees for all levels from Associates to Store Managers.
  • Assess employee engagement and recommend solutions to bridge the gap in areas of opportunities to enhance the employee experience at Yesway.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations to Operations for continuous improvement.
  • Advise Operations on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and procedures for hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, coaching and investigations.
  • Develop, prepare, and analyze people metrics to determine root causes. create reports and recommend solutions based on findings.
  • Conduct ad hoc training and coaching as needed for employee relations techniques, corrective action and documentation, and performance management best practices.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure the execution of employee onboarding, required training, and development programs.
  • Travel as needed (10-15%).
