About The Position

We are seeking a Field Engineer, Piping to join our team supporting the Uranium Processing Facility! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. About the Site The Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) is a construction project at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee that is intended to modernize and replace aging facilities for uranium operations. Once complete, UPF will support the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile, naval reactors, and defense nuclear nonproliferation while ensuring the long-term safety, security, and viability of enriched uranium capabilities in the United States. Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma and 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Must be familiar with ASME B31.3 for process piping, as well as materials like stainless steel and other alloys.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and piping installation drawings.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with field supervision, engineering teams, and subcontractors.
  • Must have physically able to work in various field conditions including climbing, scaffolding, and working at elevated heights.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide piping-related field and construction support to the Uranium Processing Facility.
  • Perform field inspections.
  • Complete piping-related punch lists.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and inspection of piping systems for a highly regulated and complex nuclear construction project.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical direction and expertise for the installation of piping systems.
  • Plan piping work packages and assist with construction schedules.
  • Interpret and review piping design drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Oversee inspection and testing activities, including pressure testing (hydrotesting) of piping systems.
  • Develop test packages and witness test acceptance.
