GBA Companies is hiring Field Engineer Interns for GBA Builders. GBA Builders provides pre-construction consulting, general contracting, design-build and construction management at risk services. As an intern you may gain hands-on experience with estimating, preconstruction, design management, project management, scheduling, quality control reviews, site visits, and much more. Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering OR other related engineering or business discipline with interest in construction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to work in fast-paced situations while maintaining focus
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, and work on active construction sites for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Comfort working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, or stairs
Nice To Haves
- Previous internships are a definite plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with day-to-day activities such as drawing coordination, safety reports, daily logs and reports, progress photos, quality assurance and site communication and coordination.
- Assist with estimating by contacting subcontractors and completing quantity take-off
- Quality control assistance
- Assist with schedule evaluations and updates
- Assist project buyout and preconstruction
- Interact with clients and design team as needed to resolve issues and expedite the work
- Attend site visits for new projects
- Assist with project budget management
- Provide Safety assistance while on job sites
- Other duties as assigned
