Wood Mackenzie’s proprietary monitoring systems measure millions of data points per day. The Field Engineer will work with Woodmac’s sensor network operations team to support expansion and maintenance of the sensor network in the SE region of the United States (Atlanta based) and lower 48 states.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • You must be motivated, conscientious, highly organized, and comfortable performing within deadlines.
  • You need to be capable of working independently.
  • You should be comfortable traveling during the workweek.
  • You MUST have a safe driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Be able to lift 50lbs
  • You should have experience with common hand tools (drills, screwdriver, pliers, multimeter, sockets/wrenches)

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering or technical degree a nice to have.
  • A bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or field service ticket/ops systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Frequent travel anywhere in the lower 48 states and possibly Canada (Avg. 4 days per week).
  • Installation of monitoring systems near electric power generating plants, measuring flow on overhead power lines (wirelessly measurement – no contact with powerlines).
  • Work with team members to pre-plan and complete sensor installations, troubleshoot technical problems and ship/receive new or old equipment.
  • Verify incoming data quality from new sensors and calibrate the data collected from the devices.
  • Perform maintenance on previously installed monitoring systems in the network.
  • Troubleshoot problem components and replace faulty parts (on- and off-site).
  • Be prepared to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Locating acceptable monitor sites and establishing relationship with landowners.
  • Heavy use of field service tracking software like Salesforce (inventory, job tracking and customer/contract management)
