YAL students and activists are fighting every day to make liberty win. This role makes sure their stories get told. YAL wins because students take action, organizers lead, and policy fights happen on campuses and in states across the country. But if those stories never make it out of the field, their impact stops there. Young Americans for Liberty is hiring a Field Communications Specialist to capture what’s actually happening on the ground and transform it into compelling, usable stories that power our marketing and communications. This role is for someone who knows how to identify compelling moments, listen, ask the right questions, earn trust, and turn real-world action into clear, persuasive storytelling. About the role The Field Communications Specialist sits on the Marketing team and serves as the primary bridge between YAL’s field teams and outbound storytelling. Your job is to proactively identify story-worthy moments, interview students and organizers in the field, and package those stories so Marketing can deploy them quickly and effectively. You are not writing activity reports. You are extracting impactful narratives that explain who acted, what happened, and why it mattered. This is a hands-on role that requires strong interviewing skills, narrative judgment, and the ability to work across teams. Success is measured by the quality, clarity, and usability of the stories you deliver. This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. 📍 Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX (minimal travel); Remote potential for the right candidate
