About The Position

A day in the life You start your shift by reviewing a new work order and pulling up the engineering print. You translate GD&T into a practical setup plan, choose the right fixtures and tooling, and load the program. On a Haas mill in the morning and a Mazak lathe after lunch, you dial in offsets, run a first-article piece, and validate critical features with micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Throughout the day, you monitor cycle performance, make on-the-fly adjustments, and keep the cell tidy, safe, and running at peak efficiency. This full-time contract role supports multiple shifts and may include assignments at different customer sites. You’ll be the go-to expert for clean handoffs between day, night, and weekend crews, ensuring precision parts ship on time. What you’ll do Translate blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T into reliable CNC setups. Prepare mills and lathes: install fixtures, set tooling, load/verify programs. Confirm machine parameters and complete first-piece inspections. Track operations, tweak offsets/feeds/speeds to protect quality and throughput. Troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime. Record production data and sustain a clean, safe work area. What you bring High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus. 1–5 years setting up and running CNC equipment. Hands-on fluency with controls such as Haas, Mazak, and Okuma. Confident use of precision metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Solid math foundation (fractions, decimals, geometry). Working knowledge of G-code and GD&T fundamentals. Preferred strengths Sharp problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Clear communicator and collaborative teammate. Comfort in fast-paced environments with firm deadlines.
