About The Position

Help the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fulfill its mission: To protect and enhance Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations. We are hiring for two full-time, seasonal positions in Corvallis, Oregon. It is anticipated that these seasonal positions will last from June 15, 2026 through September 16, 2026. NOTE: These are estimated dates. Length of season(s) may be shortened or extended depending on project needs, funding, or factors beyond the project’s control). What you will do: In these positions, you will assist with capturing (backpack electrofishing) and euthanizing (killing by means of spinal dislocation) nonnative Brook Trout in the Upper South Fork Sprague River. You will estimate abundance of Brook Trout in the Upper South Fork Sprague River. You will also collect biodata and tissue samples from Brook Trout in the Upper South Fork Sprague River. Additionally, this position may assist with other projects within the program’s statewide efforts to conserve native fishes.
