About The Position

The Field Applications Manager lead a team of Field and Product Application Scientists and will be responsible for ensuring that customers receive technical pre- and post- sales automation support while supporting the Sales team with the application of Omega Bio-tek products on various automated platforms. In addition, the Field Application Manager will be supporting products, devices, and instrumentation launches, installation, troubleshooting, and protocol development.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in life science area, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience or knowledge of workflows with DNA & RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, microarrays and NGS
  • 2-3 years of experience performing on-site customer installations for applications with liquid handlers
  • 2 years of management experience
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 25% with occasional months at 50%
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and occasionally stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in life science area preferred
  • Have a firm understanding of and experience within the life science research and genomics marketplace
  • Be a proactive individual, as well as have solid communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage large amount of technical data and documentation
  • Ability to design experiments, run tests, analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot
  • Proficiency with standard computer software, as well as common molecular biology computational tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop internal procedures, guidelines and assist Field Application Scientists with implementation of products on automated liquid handlers and magnetic processors within the sales opportunity life cycle (pre-sales, evaluation, installation, and post sales)
  • Train Field and Product Application Scientists on different liquid handling instruments, magnetic processors, and Omega Bio-tek products
  • Develop new products/workflows on different liquid handling platforms and magnetic processors
  • Provide technical support regarding applications and troubleshooting to customers via phone, email and on-site visits
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators to ensure excellent team performance
  • Play a key role in laboratory functions such as DNA extraction, RNA extraction and other downstream processes in regard to marketing, customer-related projects, and troubleshooting
  • Develop and provide technical training and materials for customers and team members
  • Create technical application content in conjunction with marketing department
  • Train and provide support to Sales Team on applications and requirements for customers on different automated platforms
  • Ensure installation services meet or exceed customer requirements as defined in Project Scope Statement
  • Ensure proper documentation of customer requirements, protocols, customer feedback, and information, reporting critical feedback to management.
  • Assign internal and customer projects according to available time and resources
  • Act as liaison between R&D and FAS teams, ensuring smooth, effective transitions of projects and communication between the two groups
  • Ensure customers receive quick, accurate responses and high-quality service from Field Application Scientists
  • Maintain a network of automation contacts for internal and external collaboration
  • Follow established company SOP and ISO Guidelines
