As the Fiber Tech Splicer, you will install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and (as necessary) restore all fiber-optic services related to residential and business internet — for Tipmont, an electricity and fiber broadband cooperative serving eight counties in north central Indiana, as well as its business division, Wintek Business Solutions. In conjunction with the work of Tipmont’s Outside Plant team, you will install, repair, splice and test fiber cables in numerous locations — including underground, overhead and indoors. As required, you’ll collaborate with clients to plan installations, document testing results, address areas where fiber plant maintenance is required, and create graphical worksheets for contractors’ usage. With excellent attention to detail and organization, you’ll play an integral role in shaping regular network access for numerous area homes, schools, farms and businesses.
