About The Position

Cambrae Business Strategies, Inc. is seeking a FIAR / Audit Remediation Analyst to support the ODASW(Log) Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) program under. This position is the primary owner of Corrective Action Plan (CAP) lifecycle management and auditor response coordination across all applicable equipment and property asset types. The FIAR / Audit Remediation Analyst is the central point of accountability for CAP development, monitoring, gap analysis, and closure, and coordinates directly with Defense Agencies, IPA auditors, and Congressional liaisons on audit remediation activities.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET security clearance required at time of onboarding; must be maintained throughout the period of performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred.
  • At least 5–8 years of experience supporting DoW FIAR, financial audit remediation, or CAP management programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FIAR program structure, CAP lifecycle management, and DoW audit remediation methodology.
  • Experience coordinating auditor responses, NFR packages, and evidence assembly for IPA or IG audit engagements.
  • Knowledge of DoW Financial Management Regulation, FIAR Guidance, and applicable audit standards (GAGAS, GAAS).
  • Familiarity with ADVANA for NFR/CAP data review and audit metrics analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience developing written analyses, briefings, and presentations for senior Government stakeholders (GS-15/SES equivalent).
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable executive products.
  • Knowledge of DoW acquisition regulations, FIAR guidance, and DoD financial management frameworks as applicable to the assigned function.

  • CGFM, CDFM, or CIA certification.
  • Experience supporting IPA audit engagements, including evidence package preparation and sustained auditor coordination.
  • Familiarity with Congressional response processes and DoW correspondence management requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary owner of Corrective Action Plan (CAP) lifecycle management for equipment, property, and fleet-related FIAR findings, including CAP package development, monitoring, gap analysis, and closure documentation.
  • Assist the Government in developing, reviewing, monitoring, and updating CAPs across all applicable asset types, ensuring root cause analyses are complete, milestones are achievable, and progress is tracked against established closure criteria.
  • Coordinate with Defense Agency FIAR leads and financial managers on CAP implementation, providing technical guidance on evidence standards, documentation requirements, and IPA auditor expectations.
  • Maintain CAP status tracking tools and prepare periodic status reports for FIAR leadership on open, in-progress, and closed CAPs across all Defense Agencies.
  • Coordinate with the Equipment Data & Analytics Analyst on NFR/CAP data sets from ADVANA to support data-driven CAP analysis and prioritization.
  • Coordinate responses to auditor inquiries, Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs), DoW IG reports, GAO audit reports, and Congressional correspondence related to equipment and property accountability, working closely with the Audit Documentation Analyst who drafts formal responses.
  • Coordinate with Defense Agency FIAR Points of Contact to gather evidence, validate supporting documentation, and ensure responses are technically accurate and meet auditor evidentiary standards.
  • Support Congressional response preparation by coordinating technical inputs, assembling multi-agency data, and ensuring content is cleared through the appropriate ODASW(Log) review process prior to routing to the Audit Documentation Analyst for formal drafting.
  • Provide insights and assessments on audit remediation strategy, evaluating the effectiveness of current corrective actions and recommending adjustments based on auditor feedback, emerging findings, and audit risk trends.
  • Analyze NFR and CAP data in coordination with the Equipment Data & Analytics team to identify systemic patterns, prioritize remediation efforts, and develop evidence-based strategy recommendations for the FIAR SME.
  • Monitor DoW-wide FIAR remediation progress and advise senior leadership on areas of elevated risk, stalled CAPs, or recurring deficiencies requiring escalated attention.
  • Prepare CAP status briefings, remediation progress reports, and audit risk assessments for FIAR Governance Board and senior ODASW(Log) leadership.
  • Attend Material Weakness Working Group (MWWG), FIAR Governance Board, and relevant interagency meetings, providing CAP status updates and audit remediation input.
  • Support the FIAR team in responding to external data requests, audit inquiries, and ad hoc reporting requirements related to CAP status and audit remediation.
