About The Position

A D/A Co‑Occurring Clinician provides comprehensive substance‑use treatment within Merakey’s clinic‑based behavioral health program, serving as a key member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. In addition to delivering integrated care for individuals with co‑occurring mental‑health and substance‑use disorders, the clinician provides therapeutic services including individual, couple, and family therapy; conducts intake and diagnostic assessments; facilitates group therapy—including structured drug‑and‑alcohol groups using evidence‑based practices, relapse‑prevention strategies, psychoeducation, and skill‑building; and coordinates care with the clinic director, psychiatrist, and clinical supervisor. The clinician actively engages clients, supports ongoing participation in treatment, and delivers clinically appropriate interventions for individuals experiencing mild to severe mental‑health conditions while maintaining accurate documentation, practicing trauma‑informed and culturally competent care, and upholding ethical and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Completed an accredited master’s‑level program with a graduate degree in a human‑service field such as social work, clinical counseling, or psychology
  • Completed a minimum one‑year clinical internship.
  • This clinician provides integrated mental‑health and substance‑use treatment for individuals with co‑occurring disorders, requiring strong skills in assessment, counseling, and evidence‑based interventions. The role demands knowledge of DSM‑5 diagnostics, substance‑use treatment models, crisis‑management strategies, and the ability to facilitate individual and group therapy while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Clinicians are expected to uphold ethical standards, practice trauma‑informed and culturally competent care, engage in supervision and ongoing training, and support program goals with professionalism and flexibility.
