Position Overview Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue a long tradition of supporting creativity, building talent, and celebrating each artist's unique journey at Interlochen. As a Festival Audience Support Manager and take the lead in creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for thousands of guests. You'll oversee front-of-house operations across multiple venues, manage patron flow, coordinate venue logistics, and ensure artist and audience safety during high-profile performances. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership, event operations, and security coordination experience, particularly in fast-paced, public-facing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train a team of seasonal staff and volunteers, providing direction during live events
  • Ensure smooth entry, seating, and exit processes for all IAF performances
  • Address patron concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience for all attendees
  • Supervise front-of-house operations with a focus on safety, hospitality, and efficiency
  • Coordinate crowd control, access points, and patron movement at indoor and outdoor venues
  • Enforce safety protocols and venue policies in collaboration with the Campus Safety, State Police, First Responders, and other Production Teams
  • Respond to and manage on-site incidents calmly and effectively
  • Maintain a visible and calm presence at events to help prevent and de-escalate issues
  • Oversee setup and teardown of event infrastructure, including barricades, signage, and technical equipment (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs)
  • Ensure all areas are performance-ready and compliant with safety standards
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure seamless event logisticsWork both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as part of daily duties
  • Some tasks may require working independently without direct supervision
