JOB SUMMARY The Technician - Cultivation Fertigation ensures optimal plant nutrition and hydration by accurately mixing and applying nutrient solutions and monitoring irrigation systems. This role is responsible for data collection and troubleshooting within the fertigation system. All duties must be performed in compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) regulations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Nutrient Mixing & Water Preparation: Accurately fill, mix and PH adjust water and nutrients per specifications. Follow precise directions and safe chemical handling protocols. Irrigation System Monitoring: Conduct regular emitter and drain checks, monitor for functionality and clogs. Calibrate and operate EC and PH meters to confirm correct dosing and runoff readings. Identify and troubleshoot issues with irrigation equipment, escalate to leadership as needed. Environmental & Irrigation Data Collection and Entry: Record and input data related to irrigation schedules, runoff readings and system performance. Monitor and assess plant hydration needs and overall plant health based on data trends. Plant Health Monitoring: Identify and report signs of plant stress, nutrient deficiencies, pests, or diseases to the Cultivation or IPM team. Assist with visual inspections tied to fertigation performance. OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITES Collaborate with team members and maintain open communications with leadership Submit maintenance requests when irrigation or fertigation equipment malfunctions Follow and maintain facility cleanliness, sanitation, and biosecurity protocols Adhere to all safety, sanitation, PPE requirements and operational procedures Maintain operational logs and assist in monitoring water system equipment/reporting issues to Cultivation Leadership
