About The Position

We are seeking a Fermentation Technician to join our Agricultural Solutions team in St. Joseph, MO. Come create chemistry with us! As a Fermentation Technician you will be responsible for operating the fermentation process and equipment for the production of agricultural products. You will assist in the execution of the daily production schedule. This will include ensuring a safe working environment, monitoring product quality, equipment batching and monitoring, raw material transportation, and housekeeping/5S projects.During your shift as a Fermentation Technician, you will Monitor all safety and quality aspects of the fermentation vessels. Leverage your strong work ethic, you will ensure efficient production and a high level of housekeeping and cleanliness. Engage with other departments for the timely completion of product batches. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude (preferably with aseptic technique as well), to be the first line of troubleshooting with the production equipment. Transport materials between the production areas. Be able to complete boiler training and certification within one year of hire in order to be fully capable of running the plant’s utility systems. Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 1 year of mechanical experience including a working knowledge of tools, familiarity with fermentation equipment and instrumentation are key, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and steam traps.
  • At least 1 year of computer navigation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Maintaining a class-I boiler operating permit (preferred)
  • Maintaining a fork lift operating certificate (preferred)
