About The Position

The Feedlot Technical Specialist will support commercial growth of Zinpro Feedlot sales by leveraging beef industry knowledge, beef cattle management understanding, and nutritional expertise. This person will provide technical training for the sales team and Zinpro’s global customers, ensuring all are well-equipped to promote and sell. The Feedlot Technical Specialist will be responsible for working alongside account managers and independently to grow, develop, and implement sales and account strategies to achieve sales growth. Additionally, they will contribute to building our global strategy for beef and collaborate with both the technical and research teams

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (PhD, DVM) in Beef Nutrition or a related field.
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training in the beef industry.
  • Experience providing technical services to both internal and external customers.
  • Experience conducting ruminant animal research studies.
  • Advanced computer skills, including the use of spreadsheets, word processing, statistical analysis, and presentation software.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and team environment.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and scientific peers.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with product development, technical services, and sales teams to determine priorities.
  • Independently and through team efforts grow sales through enhanced customer relationships and technical knowledge about products within the beef industry.
  • Partner with the North American and global sales teams to provide technical support and expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work as a part of a team to help deliver Zinpro business goals, promoting product benefits to customers and key influencers.
  • Develop and execute annual sales strategies for assigned accounts based on strategic importance, understanding of market/industry trends, and firsthand customer information.
  • Retain and expand strong working relationships with large, highly complex, visible, strategic, or tactically important customers and key influencers.
  • Assist in directing, coordinating, and summarizing beef research studies, identifying insights and messaging to take to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create presentations, economic models, and other tools to enhance customer satisfaction and product sales.
  • Prepare and present technical product presentations to a broad range of audiences, from producers and feed company representatives to industry professionals and the academic community.
  • Utilize statistical and data visualization tools to analyze and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Prepare and present conclusions and recommendations for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain standing within the scientific community by attending scientific meetings and cultivating contacts and relationships with University and Research personnel in the USA and globally.
  • Remain abreast of the latest beef research findings and technologies being implemented in beef nutrition and management.
  • Provide on-farm technical support in product sales, including specific product knowledge while utilizing practical cattle management knowledge to position Zinpro effectively with customers both at the nutritionist and producer levels.
  • Evaluate findings to develop new concepts, products, equipment, or processes and/or to develop applications of findings to new uses.
