About The Position

The Roaring River Feed Mill is seeking a 1st Shift PART-TIME Feed Mill Worker. This role involves a variety of tasks including sweeping and cleaning assigned areas of the mill, assisting with the unloading of ingredients from rail cars and trucks, and cleaning up feed spills. The worker will also be responsible for groundskeeping duties, utilizing landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers. The position requires the ability to use and maintain air-driven equipment like blow guns for cleaning, and high-pressure water hoses for washing down mill areas. Operating a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) to move pallets of ingredients is also a requirement. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical demands of the job, including lifting, standing, sitting, walking, and climbing, and must be able to work in various environmental conditions such as hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. Adherence to all Tyson Health and Safety protocols, company policies, and Biosecurity Guidelines (including avoiding avian species) is mandatory. Communication with all levels of operations, customers, and vendors is also expected.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must wear required PPE ear protection
  • Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures
  • Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
  • Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day
  • MUST PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS TASKED BY ADMINISTRATION
  • MUST BE SAFE AND OBSERVE ALL OF TYSONS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
  • REHIRES ARE SUBJECT TO A 91 DAY WAIT PERIOD, determined from their last date of employment, to apply for FRESH PLANT
  • CANDIDATES THAT HAVE WORKED FOR TYSON FOODS OR TYSON AFFILIATES 3 OR MORE TIMES WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REHIRE

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and clean assigned areas of the mill and sign off when completed
  • Help and assist with ingredients unloading activities like unloading of rail car/trucks
  • Clean up feed spills
  • Perform ground keeping duties including using landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers
  • Use and maintain air driver equipment like blow guns to assist in cleaning activities
  • Use high pressure water hoses to wash down and clean areas of the feed mill
  • Use PIT to move pallets of ingredients
  • Wear required PPE ear protection
  • Work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather
  • Work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling
  • Work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures
  • Sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by management
  • PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS TASKED BY ADMINISTRATION
  • BE SAFE AND OBSERVE ALL OF TYSONS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
