About The Position

This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Tasks: This position is responsible for cleaning up spilled feed, assisting with loading and unloading feed trucks and any other duties as assigned by management, such as cleaning and shoveling pits and scale area. This position also requires learning all positions to cover for vacations and absentees.

Requirements

Must be willing to work flexible hours, such as rotating shifts, some weekends, and most holidays.
Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors 5 to 7 days per week, 8 to 10 hours a day.
Must be willing to use an 8 to 12 lb. sledgehammer.
Must be willing to climb ladders and stairs.
Must be willing to work in an elevated area.
Must be willing to use an elevator.
Must be capable of being certified to operate receiving equipment: forklifts, bobcats, tractors, and pallet jacks.
Must be willing to participate in team efforts.
Must be able to work in a climate ranging from extreme cold to extreme hot.
Must also be willing to work in a dusty non-toxic environment.
Must be willing to follow Mill Safety rules at all times.
Max of 3 previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire. 180 days (6 months) waiting period.

Responsibilities

Sweep and clean assigned areas of the mill and sign off when completed
Help and assist with ingredients unloading activities like unloading of rail car/trucks
Clean up feed spills
Perform ground keeping duties including using landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers.
Use and maintain air driver equipment like blow guns to assist in cleaning activities
Use high pressure water hoses to wash down and clean areas of the feed mill
Use PIT to move pallets of ingredients
Wear required PPE ear protection
Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance
Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
Complete all other tasks assigned by management. Maintain good housekeeping including service areas
Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
Perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
