About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform basic functions to insure efficient daily operations of the Feed Mill.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good communication skills with a teamwork attitude are essential.
• Self-motivation with a drive for safe quality feed is required.
• Computer skills, Word, Excel required.
• Mathematical ability is required.
• Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 60 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to climb up to 150ft by ladder.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
• Employee may work in outside environment where temperatures vary seasonally.
• Clothing must be worn based on seasonal weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Certain areas may be loud enough to require ear protection.
• All personal protective equipment will be provided and required during certain working conditions and in certain areas.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high places.

Nice To Haves

• Agricultural experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in a feed mill is preferred.
• Training in preventative maintenance programs, mechanical and electrical systems desirable.
• Knowledge of production agriculture desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mixing and loading poultry feed for delivery to multiple farm locations
• Apply knowledge of SQF and Safe Food/Safe Feed practices during all mill activities
• Receiving and maintenance of ingredient inventories
• Preventative maintenance and repair of mill and related equipment
• Maintaining a clean safe Mill environment
• Provide back-up support to Mill Manager as required
• Other duties as assigned
