About The Position

Position Overview : Primary duties to include shift supervision of batching, pelleting, receiving and delivery of livestock feed and all related safety and documentation. Additional duties to include loading/unloading trucks, customer service, housekeeping, equipment maintenance, warehouse maintenance, forklift operation, grain handling and other related feed production duties. Supervisor will supply a first shift update to the Mill Manager daily.

Requirements

• BS Agriculture related degree or equivalent work experience.
• Computer proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, WEM and FMM.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Have a commitment to safe working conditions and operations of CDL required vehicles.
• Be willing and able to work well with others, to take and give constructive criticism and to supervise 1st shift mill operators and drivers.
• Must be able to work without supervision and make 1st shift operational decisions.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and productivity.
• Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas.
• Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area).
• This position will work in a dusty and sometimes cold, hot, and humid environment.

Nice To Haves

• Agriculture background a plus.
• Mill and truck mechanical interest and aptitude are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work independently and efficiently without supervision.
• Assist mill employees with operating activities, training, and development.
• Operate scales for inbound and outbound trucks.
• Performing basic preventative maintenance, including housekeeping items.
• Understanding the feed ingredients and proper handling techniques and storage.
• Distributing the feed onto feed trucks while minimizing shrink.
• Mill and truck mechanical interest and aptitude are beneficial.
• Operate equipment safely and maintain equipment according to maintenance schedule.
• Ability to use analytical techniques for problem solving, coordination, and decision making.
• High attention to detail and formula accuracy.
• Driven, organized, punctual and self-starter.
• Individual must be team oriented and leadership capabilities.
• Consistently follows all laws, regulations, and safety rules.
• Properly complete necessary paperwork, documentation, and records daily.
• Assist with other duties as required.
