About The Position

South Jersey Behavioral Health Resources, Inc. (SJBHR), an affiliate of Apis Services, Inc., is a fully licensed non-profit behavioral health agency that has been providing comprehensive and innovative mental health services to adults, children, and families for over 25 years. We are seeking a Fee for Service Clinician (Clinician) to join our team in Camden or Pennsauken, NJ. Our Clinician will provide direct therapeutic services including individual, couples, and family therapy. The Clinician will also assume an active role in improving program outcomes and overall organizational performance through participation in continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Full Time FFS Clinicians are required to provide on average 25 hours of completed services per week.
  • Individual psychotherapy sessions are provided for 30 minutes.
  • 50 minute sessions are approved for the following: intake assessments, couples psychotherapy, family psychotherapy, treatment planning or routine treatment plan updates, and significant changes in status or Crisis Scenarios.
  • Complete all required clinical documentation within required timeframes. Pull charts prior to sessions and complete and file all clinical paperwork.
  • Schedule assigned consumers and maintain clinical contact/outreach.
  • Follow up with all consumers that miss or cancel a scheduled appointment.
  • Follow NJ state law regarding confidentiality and follow NJ state procedures for reporting abuse and/or neglect.
  • Follow all SJBH policies and procedures.
  • File Unusual Incident Reports before end of business day.
  • As applicable, maintain current professional licensing and complete the associated required continuing education hours.
  • Notify leadership immediately of any adverse finding regarding the Clinician's license, disbarment, any claims of malpractice, and/or liability settlements/payouts.
  • Complete and submit a time card and Report of Services consistent with agency policy.
  • Understand that in order to meet the billable requirement the Clinician may need to work in excess of the agreed upon hours.
  • Time off requests are submitted in accord with agency policy. Leave time is unpaid. Changes in schedule must be provided in writing to the Director at least one week prior to the proposed change.
  • If the Clinician is unable to provide services due to illness or other emergency it is their responsibility to reschedule consumers. Time missed may be made up.
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work or related discipline.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language and Braille may also be considered acceptable communication skills.
  • Ability to use various types of electronic, computer and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year experience in the mental health field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the problems associated with psychiatric care, knowledge of the DSM 5 and psychotropic medications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical service to consumers (to include individual, couples and family therapy), and include families and significant others in treatment.
  • Schedule and maintain clinical contact/outreach with assigned consumers.
  • Complete treatment plans, progress notes and other chart material timely; submit daily activity logs which document face-to-face contacts.
  • Conduct intake assessments timely.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary approach, consulting with psychiatric and other staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Schedule and participate in clinical and administrative supervision as needed or required.
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical records and treatment plans.
  • Follow all department and agency policies and procedures, maintaining ethical and professional standards at all times.
  • Comply with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Intervene when consumers are not fulfilling their financial responsibilities by addressing balances directly with consumers and supporting collection efforts by billing staff.
  • Collect co-pays from consumers prior to providing services.
  • Ensure consumers are connected with other agencies that might provide beneficial support.
  • Keep apprised of new theories, therapy techniques and interventions that might benefit consumers.
