About The Position

The Federal Project Manager will function in a project leadership capacity on Department of Defense contracts, with particular emphasis on Air Force and USACE programs. In this role you will:   Manage multiple small to medium sized Services projects Manage multiple Federal clients and/or projects Support aspects of Business Development Obtaining new/repeat business on medium size projects; supports contract negotiations with client peers Reduce risk to B&V by managing profit on fixed price engineering projects, managing risk implementing new technology or working with new clients Act as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individuals comprising this team may vary by project.   This position supports Black & Veatch project work with the U.S. Federal Government. As a result, U.S. citizenship is a requirement.While this is a remote position in the State of Louisiana, location near Air Force Global Strike Command HQ is preferred.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is a requirement
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years' experience working with A/E projects/teams associated with the U.S. Department of Defense Air Force Global Strike Command Weapons Generation Facility missions
  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Experience with Air Force and USACE is required
  • Security Clearance TS
  • Business Development - Identifies client requirements. Develops and maintains relationships with clients. Lead project team preparing and presenting project estimates and proposals including scope, cost, and schedule according to client requirements and bid processes.
  • Business Acumen - Negotiates contract commercial terms. Manages project budgets, costs, and receivables. Manages contracts and legal issues. Analyzes and reports health metrics as a basis for improvement. Applies knowledge of policies and regulations to project scope. Builds relationships with key stakeholders. Applies value creation.
  • Execution - Utilize B&V project management phases & methodology including, project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and closeout to direct work. Manages changes and risk on scope, cost, schedule, quality, and safety based on available resources and client requirements. Manages constructability and procurement. Manages warranty plan.
  • Leadership - Communicates clear expectations, goals, and vision. Manages performance of direct reports. Motivates, coaches, and mentors professionals. Delegates project work. Manages conflict and collaboration to achieve results.
