About The Position

The Federal Business Development Manager will drive new business and expand GST's presence within the federal sector. This hands-on, execution-focused role requires an individual who can identify opportunities, engage with federal clients, and close deals. The ideal candidate has experience selling into the federal government, understands the federal procurement environment, and is highly self-motivated. This position is essential to advancing GST's growth strategy in the federal market.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in federal business development, account management, or sales.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, contracts, and key agency buying dynamics.
  • Proven track record of generating leads, closing deals, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with government contractors, OEMs, or value-added resellers (VARs) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies targeting federal agencies to meet revenue and margin goals.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the federal market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across federal agencies, contractors, and strategic partners.
  • Manage a portfolio of federal clients, dealers, distributors, and OEM accounts while ensuring consistent communication and alignment.
  • Own the full sales cycle-from prospecting and proposal development to negotiation and contract closure.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align solutions, products, and services with customer needs.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports.
  • Stay informed on federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and market trends.
