Sports: FCS 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach
About The Position
Teach fundamental basketball skills and strategies. Run effective daily practices. Coach all basketball games. Cooperates and collaborates with other basketball coaching staff to establish and implement the shared program philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught. Cooperates and communicates respectfully to parents. Supervise bus trips and locker room, as well as, behavior at away and home games. Maintain sportsmanship and respect to other teams, coaches, bus drivers, and community members. Coaches must keep an accurate record of equipment and uniform inventory. Follows district policies and procedures. Understands and follows rules and regulations set forth by all governing agencies: state association, school district and league. Participates in training and other activities deemed mandatory by the district to improve coaching performance and enhance student health and safety. Attends athletic department meetings, when required.
Requirements
- Basketball coaching experience, preferred
- Experience in K-12 setting, preferred
- Current First Aid Certification or the ability to get certified
- Concussion Certification
- Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member
- Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with District staff and the public
- Ability to respect confidential information
- Successful applicant will be fingerprinted and background checked.
