FCAW Welder Needed
About The Position
We are currently seeking a skilled FCAW Welder to join our Decatur, Alabama fabrication shop team. If you've previously applied for a welding position with us-this is your opportunity to complete the required weld test and move forward in our hiring process. Position Overview As an FCAW Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on carbon steel components in a fast-paced fabrication environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict welding procedures. All applicants will complete one weld test under the following conditions: Time Limit: 4 hours Weld Type: Stringer weld pass only (weave pattern NOT allowed) Welding Process: FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) Filler Metal: 0.045 E71T-12C/M-H8 Material: Carbon Steel Plate Thickness: 1" Backing strip will be used Run-off tabs will be provided Test Position: V-Groove 3G (Uphill) Inspection / Testing: Visual inspection of root and final cap Two (2) side bend tests
Requirements
- Proven experience with FCAW welding
- Ability to pass a 3G uphill weld test
- Strong understanding of weld quality standards
- Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
