About The Position

As a FC Systems Architect (internally known as a FC Sorcerer), you will join an award-winning team, driving the productivity of a fast-growing, highly automated Fulfillment center (FC) operation. At Parts Town, we don't just use HighJump, we relentlessly innovate with it. Since 2015, we've been building our capabilities, and now it's time to bring our team's knowledge to the highest level. That's where you come in! You are an industry expert in HighJump systems, from seamless implementation to high-performance execution. You have mastered best practices in database tuning, change management, and HighJump development across all platforms (Page Editor, Architect, SQL). Most importantly, you're looking for an eager group of experienced analysts and developers to mentor and grow into a truly world class team.

Requirements

  • You are a SQL and/or WMS developer/analyst with 10+ years of experience or more
  • You have 10+ years experience in operational production environments, so you understand general best practices around incremental process improvement
  • You’ve developed and supported high-volume complex applications, so you appreciate techniques for writing code that is easy to test, highly configurable, and readily scalable with the operation
  • You enjoy interacting with your users and truly understanding their challenges. That is what drives your passion for innovation – you love solving hard problems that serve a key business need
  • You are insanely detail oriented. It really matters to you that your work is clear, correct, and easily maintainable by your teammates. You ask A LOT of questions – the more questions, the better
  • You are adaptable and can tackle shifting priorities – We are a fast-growing company, and that means being nimble to capitalize on opportunities when they arise
  • You share our core values and you want to work with other like-minded teammates

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HighJump development team and FC leaders to design innovative solutions for our most pressing operational challenges
  • Lead the team's best practices, procedures, and standards, ensuring that we maintain ironclad change control and testing protocols.
  • Serve as an expert resource to the entire team – often answering questions no one else can!
  • Find root cause solutions for our toughest performance issues, and find durable fixes for any system vulnerabilities or stability concerns.
