About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a part-time FAU Foundation Accounting Intern in Boca Raton, FL. The FAU Foundation Accounting Intern requires strong Excel skills and is detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality to support project activities. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and handle a variety of account reconciliations and financial tasks with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Degree-seeking graduate student with a minimum of five credit hours (or nine if international) and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas).
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research, review, and summarize contracts and agreements.
  • Update ERP system with pertinent data.
  • Assist with the digitization of legacy documentation.
  • Open mail and prepare cash receipts log, as needed.
  • Assist with asset inventory.
  • Review and verify financial data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with resolving discrepancies and following up on outstanding items.
  • Maintain organized records of all work in accordance with internal controls.
  • Communicate with other departments as needed to gather data and clarify financial information.
