About The Position

North Risk Partners is a fast-growing firm dedicated to serving the insurance and risk management needs of businesses and individuals. We provide expertise in Commercial Lines, Employee & Individual Benefits, Personal Lines, Surety, Claims, and Risk Management. Our team consists of over 450 employees working in over 30 locations across five states, including Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. We're seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Farms Account Manager to support a portfolio of both commercial and personal agricultural accounts. This role is client-focused, being the go-to point of contact while supporting the sales team. This position requires an understanding of ag insurance, strong client relationship skills, proactiveness, attention to detail, and a passion for serving the community.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 2 years in ag insurance
  • Active property & casualty insurance license
  • Demonstrated success in customer service
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, demonstrating ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to identify problems and lead by example
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for a book focused on clients with farms or other agribusiness needs
  • Manage day-to-day service of accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a high level of client satisfaction in all transactions
  • Conduct regular reviews to assess coverage needs, risk exposure, and policy effectiveness
  • Answer questions regarding all lines of coverage, and assisting with plan and/or carrier changes, claims, and billing
  • Provide advice and counsel to assigned accounts
  • Review current insurance programs, offering the right coverage at a competitive price
  • Assist clients with claims processing
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and product comparisons tailored to client needs
  • Maintain client files in the agency management system following standard company policies and procedures
  • Schedule, attend, and participate in meetings, trainings, and classes
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with partner insurance carriers
  • Strive to return phone calls, messages, and emails on the same business day
  • Enter activity and other relevant information accurately into the company's software system(s)
  • Follow all federal and state regulations, and best practices for avoiding errors and omissions
  • Continue professional development related to obtaining and maintaining licensing and designations as applicable
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices
