About The Position

To assist the culinary gardener in raising and maintaining the standards of production and presentation in the produce gardens at Old Edwards

Requirements

• Must have good communication, self-motivation, focus, enthusiasm, attention to detail
• Practical experience in a range of horticultural tasks are all essential, and experience working with culinary plants is desirable.
• Position involves regular bending, kneeling for extended periods and manual handling of heavy equipment and materials.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years Farming/Horticulture prefrred but not required.
• Access to independent transport is desirable.

Responsibilities

• A variety of garden maintenance tasks including seed-starting, transplanting, weeding, and harvesting through the use of hand tools and small machinery.
• Day to day maintenance tasks such as litter clearance, tool organization, and small repairs.
• Assistance with projects having to do with the operations of the gardens and the involvement of the community, as well as initiative to identify small projects of importance and personal interest to implement individually.
