All of the duties will include training and support to set up the candidate for success. Due to the nature of this position and to protect our employees and JAM equipment & property, we have a drug-free work policy, including medical marijuana.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle to drive to our venue located at 525 Waterloo Rd, Stanhope, NJ 07874.
  • Use and training of proper safety equipment required and provided.
  • Attention to detail and respect for property.
  • Reliability and dependability are required.
  • Animals must be cared for, as well as our farm.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-management skills.
  • Ability to work alone with instructions and with a team to achieve company goals.
  • Communicate clearly with the team leader about job status and any issues.
  • Be able to lift, push, pull and/or move 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with gardening preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
  • Experience with livestock care including chickens, geese, ducks, alpacas preferred, but we will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Rotation feeding livestock (including chickens, geese, ducks, and alpacas) grain, fresh hay, and water in the morning & evenings.
  • Rotation mucking stalls/coops and washing feed and warer buckets.
  • Planting, transplanting, cultivating, mulching, weeding, staking, harvesting, tilling, raking, hoeing, etc. in the two small farm fields and orchard plus general flower and herb planting maintenance around buildings as instructed.
  • Rotation Alpaca walking with another farmer at events.
  • Emptying 5-gallon buckets and 64-gallon rolling bins of food scraps into compost pile once a week with assistance.
  • Weed whacking inside fence lines and path.
